Guest to Client

Perhaps the most lucrative way to monetize a podcast is to have guests that might become future customers or clients of your products or services.

This requires some strategy because you wouldn’t just have anyone on your show that fits your niche. It would be a very specific type of guest. One that you could see benefiting from your products or services.

You also need to be careful about how you approach this relationship. They don’t want to be sold on the show or after the interview. You want to nurture that relationship. You may ask them if they’d be interested in joining your newsletter to receive future updates so that they will notice your offerings.

At a certain point, you could inquire if they’ve considered your services or working with you. It could take years (if ever) for any guest to become a customer or client of your products or services, so you don’t want to go into the interview with that sole intention in mind. You want to give value to that person, too. But this is a valuable and viable strategy that could cause tens of thousands of dollars in new business, depending on your business model.
